Embark on the ultimate test of endurance and resilience with the Nedbank Desert Dash – a formidable 24-hour, 397km MTB challenge cutting through the heart of the world's oldest desert. More than a race, it's a wild beast that beckons, challenges, and permits only the bravest to ride its untamed back. This is a relentless battle spanning a day and a night, where human and nature, body and mind, engage in a gripping struggle.

At Legacy of Love, we actively engage in the Desert Dash through riders who pedal for parents enduring the loss of a child. The most profound fear of grieving parents is the thought that their child will be forgotten. Hence, at our annual Candle Ceremony, we hand over a candle bearing the child's name, a luminous tribute that must burn for the entire 24-hour duration of the Desert Dash. In this way, we pay homage to the remarkable courage of parents navigating the harsh desert of longing and grief. We started to include any bereaved person.

Join us as we push the boundaries of human capability and honour those who, amidst the challenges of the Desert Dash, carry the flame of remembrance for their beloved angels.
