The legacy of Lumé extends far beyond her passing. Lumé was born on May 30, 2006, in Windhoek. She began walking at 10 months old, and from then on, she approached everything with passion and full speed. She possessed confidence, a strong will, and spontaneity. She was indeed a little sunshine mixed with a small hurricane! She grew up to be a talented athlete in athletics, dance, and netball. She loved to sing, was first in line to babysit the little ones, and adored animals. Her presence was captivating, earning her the title of a "drama queen" wherever she went.

Tragically, on July 2, 2017, Lumé departed unexpectedly, leaving a void that nothing could fill. Yet, her impact remained palpable through the countless stories and gestures shared by those touched by her spirit. Indeed, Lumé embodied her name's meaning – a bearer of divine light, illuminating the path for others to follow.

Her affinity for love was unmistakable, evident in her correspondence filled with affectionate messages and symbols. Her Bible diary entries frequently centred on the theme and word “LOVE”, reflecting a profound connection to her faith.

She showed friends that it's cool to follow Jesus, and her answer to one girl's question, "Lumé, what do you do when you are afraid… in the dark?" was: "But, Lana, I pray!" Like duh, of course you pray...! LOL. She helped new kids in school, showing them around, and comforted the sad ones. She shared her treats, but you can only take one if you say, "With Love from Lumé." She greeted all adults with a hug. She was funny, loved to talk and always felt the need to eat in class before break time.

We truly believe that God was sending us a clear message through our daughter.

In honour of Lumé's legacy, we are committed to embodying the qualities of love described in 1 Corinthians 13. The heart and love depicted in our logo are a tribute to Lumé, rendered in her own handwriting. Her legacy of love will endure both in our hearts and in eternity, a testament to the enduring power of faith, hope, and love – with love reigning supreme.
